Instagram Direct and Facebook Messenger on Zapify: the same support, two more channels
Instagram Direct and Facebook Messenger are now real channels on Zapify — DMs, comment and story replies, with the same AI assistant and the same inbox as WhatsApp. Here's what changes day to day.
Customers are no longer only on WhatsApp. A question might arrive as a comment on a post, a reply to a tagged story, or a direct message on Instagram — and, increasingly, through the Messenger of a Facebook Page. Until now, those conversations stayed out of reach for teams answering on WhatsApp. With Instagram Direct and Facebook Messenger as real channels on Zapify, they no longer do.
What actually changes
Instagram Direct and Facebook Messenger join WhatsApp, RCS and webchat in the same shared inbox: the same queue, the same agent assignment, the same history per contact — without switching screens or tools depending on which channel a message came through.
In practice, that means:
- One contact, one conversation. If someone writes first on Instagram and later on WhatsApp, Zapify keeps the context tied to the same contact, not two separate records.
- The same AI assistant. Instructions, personality and knowledge are identical across channels — not a different Instagram bot stitched to the WhatsApp bot through a shared CRM.
- Human-in-the-Loop on every channel. The assistant answers what it can safely resolve and hands the conversation to a human agent, with full context, whenever needed — the same logic already used on WhatsApp.
- Reactions and quick replies. Text, images and video by URL, up to 13 quick replies, and message reactions — natively supported on both channels.
Instagram: DMs, comments and stories
On Instagram, Zapify connects to the professional account through the Instagram messaging API. A direct message, a reply to a tagged story, or a comment that turns into a DM all land in the same inbox already used for WhatsApp — with the same assistant qualifying, answering, or escalating to a human agent.
Facebook Messenger: the Page, in the same flow
Facebook Messenger follows the same logic from a Facebook Page: direct messages from customers who prefer Messenger now enter the Zapify inbox, with delivery and read receipts just like WhatsApp, so you always know whether a message arrived and was read.
What’s still out of scope, for now
To set the right expectations: campaigns and bulk sending are still focused on WhatsApp, RCS and webchat — sending campaigns through Instagram and Messenger isn’t available in this first release. This phase is about inbound support: answering where the customer is already talking, with the same quality and context as WhatsApp.
How to activate it
Activation takes a few steps in Zapify’s channel settings, connecting either the Facebook Page (for Messenger) or the Instagram professional account, with or without a linked Page. Talk to our team to enable these channels on your account.
Frequently asked questions
Do I need a Facebook Page to use Instagram on Zapify? Not necessarily — Zapify supports both Instagram accounts linked to a Page and standalone Instagram professional accounts.
Does the AI assistant behave the same way on Instagram and Messenger? Yes. It’s the same engine, the same instructions and the same knowledge configured for your account — only the message’s transport channel changes.
Do Zapify campaigns already reach Instagram and Messenger? Not yet. At this stage, campaigns are still sent through WhatsApp, RCS and webchat; Instagram and Messenger cover inbound support.
Can I see the history of a customer who already talked to me on WhatsApp, now that they wrote on Instagram? Yes, whenever Zapify can match both conversations to the same contact, the history stays unified.
